The Warm Springs Fish Hatchery, located at Lake Sonoma, offers an incredible learning opportunity for students of all ages. Established to support steelhead and coho salmon populations after the construction of Warm Springs Dam, the hatchery is a hands-on resource for understanding fish life cycles, breeding programs, and conservation strategies.

School tours will resume in January 2027
Registration for the next spawning season will open August 1, 2026.

  • Steelhead School Tours start promptly at 10:00 am

  • Tours last for approximately 90 mins.

  • 2 classes permitted per tour (larger groups by special request)

  • Open to all grade levels (spawning days are recommended for 4th grade and up)
